The history of FBT begins on 4th March 1963 in an artisan laboratory in Recanati, Italy
From 1963 to 1980 we moved from the production of the first valve amplifiers for voice and guitar to mixers for the first radios. It’s 1980, FBT continues growing, as the production facility spreads to cover an area of 4.500 sq.mt.
In 1996 we opened the company’s current headquarters which spreads over 12.000 sq. mt. With the first FBT acoustic speakers made of polypropylene with gas moulding technology, 1999 has been a revolutionary year. In the following year, 2000, the Maxx series marked a turning point.
Ten years later the company faces professional audio with the production of the first line arrays, giving birth to the Mitus series.
Meeting new international opportunities, FBT Audio UK (based in the United Kingdom) is incorporated on January 1st 2012.
In 2015, the company internally reorganized production, structuring it into three main lines: “Touring and Install,” “Portable Sound,” and “Audio Contractor,” to more effectively address the diverse needs of the professional audio market.
2020. Our commitment to research and development has never ceased. This year, we introduced two major innovations. At the forefront is the Myra line array system, FBT’s flagship product dedicated to major live events, revolutionizing the FBT Touring segment in professional audio. In the same year, we developed internally INFINITO – System Management Suite, an advanced software solution for monitoring and controlling networked audio systems, featuring full integration with the MUSE and HORIZON VHA series.
60 years later
For over half a century, passion and technology have intertwined to transform the original vision of Bruno Baldoni and Vinicio Tanoni into a masterpiece in constant evolution. Under Vinicio’s guidance, and now with his sons Bruno and Mauro deeply immersed in the company, the legacy continues with unwavering care and dedication. What started in 1963 in a humble artisan workshop in Recanati has, over the course of sixty years, grown into a global emblem of Italian innovation and excellence.
To celebrate this milestone, a commemorative event was held on September 7th, 2023, at the company’s headquarters, featuring distinguished guests and attended by over 500 participants, including authorities, employees, customers, retailers, Italian dealers, and international distributors who traveled to Recanati from around the world.
We are thrilled to celebrate our 60th anniversary. Thank you to everyone who has supported and inspired us over the years as we embark together on exciting new ventures.
