The VHA 118SND is an active bass-reflex subwoofer from FBT’s Horizon series, specifically designed to provide extended low-frequency support for VHA 406N and 406ND. Engineered for high-output performance in professional sound reinforcement, it is ideal for large-scale events, touring systems, and fixed installations where deep, controlled bass is essential.
At its core is a high-excursion 18" woofer with a 4" voice coil, delivering a powerful and accurate low-end response down to 30Hz. The built-in Class-D amplifier supplies 2500W RMS, controlled via DSP offering six selectable presets. These presets optimize EQ settings, filtering, and cardioid configurations, enabling precise tuning based on system configuration and acoustic environment.
The VHA 118SND is housed in a robust 18mm birch plywood cabinet with a durable black scratch-resistant finish. The transducer is protected by a front powder-coated steel grille with internal acoustic fabric, ensuring both acoustic transparency and physical durability. The rear panel features a user-friendly interface with gain control, preset selection, and XLR input/output connections for seamless signal management.
The VHA 118SND delivers extended, powerful low-end support that perfectly complements the clarity and projection of the Horizon series.
At the heart of the system is the powerful amplification module with integrated TCP/IP network interface. Built on the OCA ALLIANCE AES70 standard, it ensures seamless communication with the INFINITO System Management Suite software and receives 24-bit, 48–96kHz digital audio streaming from any Dante-compatible device. Housed in a robust aluminum chassis with intelligent forced ventilation, the module features an OLED display with encoder for easy parameter adjustments. A high-brightness blue front LED allows remote identification of the device, even under daylight conditions.
